Plankton Invasion has never been more alive and plans to conquer the TV landscape late 2010 - early 2011. The captain and his team successfully survived and completed the development phase with Canal + and VAF! Commander Medusa is assembling his army, gathering his troops and building up forces; to prepare for the Plankton campaign!

The VAF ( Flemish audiovisual funding ) has jumped on board! They decided to support Plankton Invasion and to help fund the development of the Plankton Invasion TV series - a good day for the team!

The presentation was described as the one that made Ludwigsburg explode - well the room almost did anyway, as nearly 200 people squeezed in a 100 man capacity room.

- Joeri Christiaen and Frédéric Lenoir, an excellent writer who has now joined the Plankton team, presenting the project.

Plankton Invasion became the hit of the Forum. These are just the first steps in unfolding the tentacles throughout the Television landscape, but it sure looks promising.

Guillaume Hellouin (TeamTO), addressing the financial aspects of the project.

TeamTO, Canal+ and Tinkertree are definitely up for the challenge

Captain C Star and his team are invading the TV landscape, as we got selected and will be pitching Plankton Invasion at Cartoon Forum, the co-production market for European TV series, next week! Even bigger news is that we can now proudly announce that Plankton Invasion, the TV-series, is currently being developed by TeamTO and Tinkertree with Canal + and the participation of the VAF (Flemish audiovisual fund)

Plankton is invading!

PS: As a result of this current focus, the Internet-tentacle needs to go on hold for a while. Just to be clear, we are definitely not closing shop, just doing some big renovations before continuing the Internet script competition, the Tentacle Trio will be back soon!

But like the Captain, I refuse to go on hold without a loud bang and therefore promise that the first contest winner webisode; Counter Attack, by Sushi, will be posted on the website soon. As a foretaste of,-what to expect, I’ve prepared a very short teaser for you.

30 days of RnR!

Due to the P.I. animator’s holiday, the special task force team has been put on 30 days of RnR (rest and relaxation) and this much against the captain’s will!
The contest will close for June and is back online in August and the April winning joke; Counter attack is scheduled to air mid July.

We think that both jokes, Kamikaze and CO² Crackhouse are very ‘planktonic’; they are nice approaches and make great use of the series theme. Since both writers pitched the idea to merge their scripts, we’ve decided to select them both as winners. However, there is the matter of the T-shirt: we will have to cut this in half or something

We proudly present Plankon Invasion’s webisode 5, starring the mean, green Sergeant Pulpo Kalmarez in ” Making the call!”
The special taskforce team is executing a new mission, another plan to eliminate their beach-environment-cleaning enemies.
Sergeant Pulpo Kalmarez, however is confronted with his addiction again…

Star and his companions are walking near the floodline when they suddenly hear a reggae-like music and a voice say: “Hey, dude, you should totally try to inhale this stuff!” As curious as they are, they sneak towards the sound of the voice. Suddenly they see hippy-like Phytoplankton, one of the worst creatures of the sea. “Hey, man, come over here.” Star and his mates enter a big shell where clean air leaves the tip. The CO² released by burning stuff is being inhaled by the phyto’s. The next screen u see the shell broken and burning. Star walks away saying: “damned phyto’s”. A phyto who lies burning inhales his own smoke and says “whoa!!!”

The Plankton’s first public joke contest ever, has a winner! The ratings had been in his favour for quite a while now and we, the jury, couldn’t agree more. So, our very first winner is Sushi with his Counter Attack story. Sushi’s idea will now form the bases of the script for webisode 6 and we estimate that the webisode will be aired at the end of June.

So you now have seen how the contest works and if you want to be part of the Invasion start posting those ideas. We now declare the May contest for open.
