Plankton Invasion - The Contest

Plankton Invasion is an interactive mini series consisting of monthly episodes, the length of one episode will vary between 30 seconds and 3 minutes, according to the type of joke or story that is being told. Yawn…boring!

However, what makes Plankton so unique is the online script contest, making the series as interactive as can be. You the audience, our fan base, can literally decide what will happen to our special task force unit by sending in absurd jokes, wild situations and crazy scripts.
After registrating, you’ll receive an e-mail with your personal log-in. Now you’re all set to post your ideas and scripts on the Plankton website. All visitors of the website will have a chance to vote on their favourite gag.
Our jury will select one of the top three rated jokes. Then we spring into action and start writing, storyboarding, modelling, animating and all that, making your idea into a real Plankton Invasion episode! The winner of our monthly contest, is not left empty handed, au contraire: you’ll see your name IN the end titles and get a unique, one of a kind T-shirt sporting the poster of the episode. So we’ll be seeing you on the PlanktonInvasion write-a-joke forum!

When I was testing the water, so to speak, the immediate reaction of colleagues, friends, family or the odd passerby was: “yeah really great, but you know what would be even funnier if you could make them do…” and off they were. At first I did not really pay that much attention to it. But when the feedback kept coming, I knew I couldn’t leave it at that.

So we came up with this idea of going really interactive with you guys and girls.
Everybody and anybody would be able to join in the fun. And although we are a non-funded after hours project, we do not want your efforts to go unrewarded. The winner of the monthly contest will see his or her name on the end titles plus get a unique, one of a kind T-shirt sporting the poster of that episode.
We really hope this gets you psyched enough to register and start posting those ideas.

That Sunday morning hangover got the better of you or somebody else went and posted the exact same joke you had been brooding on this last couple of weeks or you forgot to pay your electricity bill…For all those off-days, when things are blocking your creativity, we have our in-house back-up writers team waiting in the wings. You don’t start an invasion without a back-up plan. So rest assured the saga will continue.
